Lessons learned in the snow

Have I ever told you that I am not the smartest person alive? No? Well, it is true. Quick story. As mentioned earlier, I enjoy walking/frolicking in the snow. Last night, we were walking to FHE (or what we thought was FHE) and when we got to the church, I realized my cell phone was missing. Now here is the thing, I was prancing, frolicking, stomping, snow angeling and most thoroughly enjoying myself in the 4-5 block walk to the building. My cell phone could have been anywhere. After 3 hours of digging, shoveling and sweating, I (with the help of friends) was able to locate my wonderful cell phone buried in the snow. Here is a list of things I learned while digging in the snow.

1. Once things are covered in snow, everything looks good. Everything. Snow + night + more snow - slipperiness + street lights - snow plows - gray and yellow snow= Pure beauty.

2. People lose many things in the snow. You name it; I found it in the snow.

3. Sprint is the pretty much best thing that ever happened to me. They are the reason I found my phone. On their site I found the Sprint Family Locater. A genius idea. Words cannot express how wonderful it is. They can locate where a cell phone is and tell you the address of the phone and show you on a map the exact location of the phone! I cannot recommend the Locater enough. It is only $5 a month, and you can cancel the plan whenever you want. (I did right after I found my phone)

4. Digging through snow with no gloves is a bad idea = frozen immovable fingers that will shatter into bits if hit by a hard object.

5. A good attitude can make things seem not so bad. Even in bad situations a good attitude can and will make life amazing.

6. Hot chocolate is one of the, if not the best, drink in the entire world. Really warms the soul after a cold adventure.

7. Never ever frolic, jump, skip, and snow angel when you have loose items in your pocket. This will only lead to bad things.

8. Snowflakes that fall on my nose and eyelashes are not one of my favorite things. They lead to smeared mascara and sneezy noses. But they are funny nonetheless.

9. Ugg boots take a long time to dry once soaked to the core. When soaked, they are no longer comfortable.

10. I am weak. Thank goodness for strapping lads who can lift shovels and sift through snow for hours on end. Plowing by hand is really an incredible workout.

11. Snow angels are fun no matter how old you are and how cold and wet you get after making them.

12. Hard work and Perseverance really do pay off!!!
