Angelina Jolie with a scratch...not a great match

Some days I wonder if I am a mild hypochondriac. Thanks to WebMD, I think this is a common occurrence in my generation. Last night at ward prayer my lips were feeling a bit tingly and swollen, so naturally, I stuck my lips in Maren and Tim's faces and asked them if my lips looked bigger than normal. They looked at me like I was crazy, but Tim kindly told me that if they kept itching, he had the perfect remedy. I was mildly appalled, and quickly moved on to the next subject.

After showering this morning, I plopped in front of the mirror and noticed I looked a little less like me and a little more like Angelina Jolie. Definitely no complaints there.
Throughout the day I proceeded to get itchier and splotchier. Right now, this is what my ankles look like:

This is my whole body. Today, I will be hidden under a full layer of winters clothing. Please don't judge me. If you do, it's okay, I too start gagging when I look at myself.

And for dramatic effect...my arms.
A nice allergic reaction to Amoxocillin will do this to you. I have taken 2 doses of Benadryl so far and no changes. If I stay like this, I will just pretend that I have the chicken pox with Erin and we can look like morons and scratch together while on different sides of the world.

Oh no! I'm so sorry Kim! Hopefully the itchiness goes down but I would keep the lips if I could :)

i ran across your picture via google pictures when looking up itching scars and i have the same thing going on with my arms and legs. although when it was at that level, i scratched so hard that it left rough bumpy dark patches on my skin, red dots, scars, bruises and i look like burn victim to tell you the truth. anyway, i just wanted to ask you if it ever went away; the itching as well as the scars (if you had any). this thing is driving me insane..

It did eventually go away. After about 5 days, the itching lessened and after about a week I looked normal (not like a burn victim). I think mine was an allergic reaction to medicine, so I tried drinking tons of water to flush it out of my system faster (don't know if that helped). Don't scratch! Try taking an oatmeal bath, that helped sooth the itching a lot. Good luck! It sure does suck!

Thanks for the update! I had my condition for about three weeks now. I guess it doesn't help that I don't know where the source of the itchiness comes from as well as the mindlessness mad itching that forms the scars/chickenpox like syndrome. Sigh...just keeping optimistic esp knowing that it went away for you. So thanks again, although i understand every case is different. I just hope life gave us this reaction as a one time deal basis. :) take care!
