One of the upsides/downsides of moving all the time is that past tenants often forget to forward their old mail. Mostly this means a lot of junk mail but occasionally you get some treats. One of the past tenants of my current apartment subscribes to magazines. A lot of magazines. She is now on a mission and so I don't feel guilty not forwarding the magazines on to her. One of the magazines I get from her is called Body + Soul...a magazine about being good to your body emotionally and physically. Every month on the last page of the magazine their is a page called, '10 Thoughts on whole Living." I usually cut this out and put it somewhere where I can read it often. I thought I would share this months 10 Thoughts. Thoughts that I really enjoyed reading and applying into my life
1. Multitask stuff, not people. Look someone in the eye when you talk to her (or him)
2. Reconnect with your work. Think beyond what you do to how it affects others.
3. Living sustainably isn't only about what you use, but what you fail to use
4. Just as a seed contains all it need to sprout, so are you already equipped to thrive.
5. Don't torture yourself over a few wayward snacks. Make your next choice a healthy one.
6. True love begins with both curiosity about and acceptance of yourself.
7. Coping with stress becomes easier when you know what deeper fear it's triggering
8. Real awareness isn't about hanging on to the moment, but simply recognizing it's there.
9. Consider this year the oppurtunity of a lifetime. Start fresh.
10. Heartbreak does more than just hurt. it opens you up to love in a whole new way.
Of course, not all 10 of these really apply to me, but some of them really speak to me (is that too incredibly cheesy? probably. Oh well)
Also, I am preparing my taxes for the first time this year. Welcome to adulthood Kim. Now if I could just learn to call doctors and make appointments...Something that I will never grow out of. Goodness, I hate doctors. and calling doctors. And making appointments in general. Good thing I don't have children. Otherwise, their broken arms and fevers would probably go unmended and not tended too. Kidding, I am not that awful of a person.
