I competed in a triathlon today! I actually did it. I am pretty proud of myself for actually doing it. I think my final time was 1:24:something. 13th in my division. For my first sprint triathlon, my first race of any kind, my first sporting event of any kind, I actually had a decent time and had fun doing it. It actually went by a lot faster than I thought it would, and I actually didn't die! Woohoo!

There was one point in the 5K when there was a family putting on a garage sale and it made me think of the Office episode where they are doing a 5K for a rabies cure and Pam and Jim
stopped by and bought a vase. I thought about stopping at the garage sale and then I got my head on straight.
Also, another funny thing happened. I noticed at one point that my timing chip fell off my ankle (see that ankle bracelet that looks like a house arrest bracelet in the last photo.) I actually had to run back and go find it so I could get a time for the tri. It probably only added a minute or two to my time, but it was a quick panic moment. I am just happy that I realized it was gone so soon after it fell off. Whew. Close call.
Please notice that in the last 2 photos, the sun is not up. No, not even close to being up. Also, I need to work on being muscular.

You can set the pace!

Haha. Thanks Dad! Now that I am into this whole exercise thing (who would have thought that I ever would have sunk to this level) I would LOVE to come bike the KATY trail. Also, I got a helmet :)
