I am in Missouri

Last year, my family started a tradition where we all get together for a small vacation over 4th of July weekend and spend some quality time together. This year, we went to Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri for a few days and had a blast together boating, eating, swimming hiking and sweating. We sure missed Erin though, but she will be there next year!

My Dad got us some Benne Family Reunion t-shirts. In true Benne fashion, of couse they had a helicopter on them and were from Boeing. Look for this stunner on your next Benne Family Christmas card, and for now excuse Beth for looking stoned. It wasn't her fault.
Although some of the family liked water-skiing, I preferred to stay safe on the "Doughnut of Death." I could actually stay on while being flopped around like crazy. My screams were probably heard around the lake while I was on that thing. I apologize for any hearing loss Allison may have sustained.
One time in my life, I claimed to a friend that I was adopted. I thought he knew I was joking, but he believed me for many months. Of course he would believe me because I am the pale short redhead in my family. Be some miracle I look taller than Beth in this picture even though she is a few inches taller than me. And Jon? He looks like he is straight from Africa.
Proof that Missouri is actually gorgeous and not "Misery." (Please see blog posts title)
When buying a new mattress yesterday, my new dear friend Tom Smith told us that we sweat about a pint a night (Personal note: Start changing sheets nightly). After going on a small hike in 106 degree weather and 100% humidity, I think I did all the sweating I need to do in my lifetime. Bonus points if you can find all 106 drops of sweat in the hideous photo below.
