It's a love story baby just say YES

Wow. My life has been so boring lately, but this weekend a little spice was added. Just what the doctor called for! 17 friends and I piled together and drove to the dreamy place called San Diego, and here is your personal invite to come along for a part of the journey. Buckle up, turn on this playlist (http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/playlist/San+Deigo/30152025) and get ready come along for the (LONG) ride.

Our journey began at exactly 5:30 pm (for my car only because we rock and are on time). Six short hours later we arrived in the wholesome fabulous Las Vegas. The Bellagio fountains are my absolute favorite and I could stay for hours. They completely mesmerize me. I don't think that anyone could be unhappy watching them.

An hour after arriving in Vegas, the other car arrived. We met up with them at the fountains and walked the Strip for a few hours.

Oh, the strip. Not a lot for a Mormon group like us to do besides walk around and stare at pretty things...like the world's biggest Chocolate fountain. I think I should make a bigger "World's Biggest Chocolate fountain" Although this one was pretty, I think I can do bigger.

We all stayed in the mini golf course of a hotel, the Excaliber, and I fell asleep as soon as I picked the maids hair off the comforter (Blech. That is what $40 a night gets you!) Early the next morning we were off. Luckily, we had the world's most exciting car and we kept ourselves busy. Such as:
Doing callanetics at the gas station. We got some good looks.

AND stopping at the Alien Fresh Jerky...with free samples. The main (correction: the ONLY) reason we stopped on by. Also, because Matt was having a traumatic experience in the bathroom.

A few hours later, we arrived in the beautiful San Diego and you better believe that I put my swimsuit on and jumped right on off that cliff...after about 5 minutes convincing myself that it was safe. It seriously scared me every time (can you tell that I am screaming and flailing in the below picture?), but I loved it.

Next on the docket was the bonfire on the beach. I am one of the worlds best weenie roasters. It's true. I was the first and probably the only one to get the art of the roast down to a perfection.

At the bonfire, Britton broke my heart and told me he would never ever kiss me...apparently this photo is the reason why :) Who wouldn't want to kiss that face, Seriously???

After being rejected by Britton, and wanting to cry, it was time to tuck in for the night and get ready for the big day the next morning, the BEACH! Hip Hip Hooray!

No beach trip is complete without a little bit of Tai Chi. Kristi and I perfected the art of Tai Chi many many moons ago.

With a big fun and fancy group as we were, we had to get a pyramid picture, of course. I feel bad for the people on the bottom and the back problems that they are suffering as a result. Unfortunately, we never did complete the pyramid fully, but we got close!

After the beach, we got to enjoy a surrey ride around the island! No, the surrey did not have any fringe on top, but it was almost as good. Our surrey group was so hard core, it was unbelievable. Not wanting to waste time, we took off into the night and left everyone in our dust. We even got a little dangerous and did some off-roading (although not into the sand, because we did not want the $25 surcharge)! Also, why else did I love this day? Beach hair is sexy and I love when I can get away without the makeup.

The next day was Sunday, and we ambushed Ryan's church, stole a few family's pews and learned that you can gain weight by getting oil on your face(uhhhh, what?? sometimes I love what people say in talks). After church we headed to the temple, and found it covered in scaffolding, but I can still see why so many people dream to get married there. I think this picture is the only one that we have of the entire group.

After the temple, my car (the fun car) decided that it was time to tae it back to boring old Provo. The 11 hour drive was one of the funniest, best, and most enjoyable car trips I have ever taken. Just an example of our funnness...at midnight we hit St. George and decided it was time for dinner. McDonald's was our establishment of choice (partly because of tradition and partly because it was the only place open.) We needed to get out of the car for awhile so we decided to have a picnic! So much fun.

This trip was exactly what I needed. I love taking off for weekends every once in a while and love throwing my cares and worries away for just a little bit.

Kim, this is the very best blog post ever. I feel as if I were there. I didn't, however, get through the whole playlist(ps I love grooveshark). You forgot to add "We got more bounce in California"... just sayin'. AND your pyramid picture is freaking awesome. I just love you! I can't wait until you come to Oceanside and I go to St Louis! yay
